The term Best Friends Squad was first spoken by Bow, in season 1 episode 4; Flowers for She-Ra. It was a term he came up with to describe their trio whilst they had a pillow fight at the end of the episode. While at first Glimmer and Adora reject the name, Glimmer optioning the name Glimmer Group, Bow stands firm with his creation, saying "NAAAA-- we're the best friends squad," before the three of them fall asleep in Adora's new room. After this, the name continues to be used throughout the series to describe the three friends and the additional comrads they make in their mission to reform the Princess Alliance. In season 1 episode 5, The Sea Gate, Bow, and Sea Hawk are heard singing "The Best Friend squad on the seas-- WE SUBDUED THE THREAT! The threat with ease, we sail the world come near or far, we're best friends WE ARE! WE ARE!" Additionally, the term is used in episode 8, Princess Prom, by Glimmer, as she reassures Adora that the prom will be fun. She tells Adora that with the three of them there, they'll be "the Best friends squad in action!"
